Inaugaral and Valedictory function details


It is our pleasure to let you know that Symbiosis Centre for Distance Learning is hosting an International Conference on Open & Distance Learning between February 21 and 23, 2011.

We are expecting about 200 delegates from across India and abroad and we have about 150 Paper Presenters as on date. We have around 50 international delegates, who will personally present their papers in the conference. We have participation from various countries like China, Iran, Malaysia, South Africa, USA, Fiji, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal, Philippines, Nigeria, Sweden, Thailand etc.



The conference will be inaugurated on 21st February 2011 by Hon’ble Shri Rajesh Tope; Minister for Higher and Technical Education, Govt. of Maharashtra, Dr. Narendra Jadhav, Member Planning Commission & Member National Advisory Council, New Delhi, India will be the Guest of Honor. The function will be presided over by Padma Shree Dr. S. B. Mujumdar, President and Founder, Symbiosis.



Valedictory address will be delivered by Prof. Asha Kanwar, Vice President of Commonwealth of Learning, Canada on 23rd Februaury 2011. Dr. Arun Nigavekar, Former Chairman, UGC and Former VC, University of Pune will be the guest of Honor for the Valedictory function which will be presided over by Padma Shree Dr. S. B. Mujumdar, President and Founder, Symbiosis

Open and Distance Learning - ODL



This conference envisages to bring together expert academicians and stalwarts in ODL. There will be lectures, papers and workshops on various aspects of ODL and hope all of us can derive and take foreword the best practices followed by various open and distance education institutes, universities.

This kind of conference is a step forward by Symbiosis Centre for Distance Learning towards new trends and use of technology in ODL.

    It is great experience to be a part of internation conference at SCDL on first day, this first inernational conference in pune will bring a great change in distacnce educaion at intenational level. i feel will be a great success.

    Attended sam Pitorda's video conferencing on Open and distacnce learning at Symbiosis centre for distance learning .. it is life time expirecnce to hear a great personality. he put recomendations for ODL and also recomended on www.knowledgecommission.gov.in for higher and technicak educations. i m realy great full and thank ful to Madam SAWATI MUJUMDAR who done great job for ODL and i wish for cming we will be having series of International conference on various theme... BEST WISHES.
